How painful can tendonitis be? That's my diagnosis but OUCH!!?

I fractured my tibia 2 months ago - same injury as Yao Ming. A week after I got off crutches, my leg started to really hurt on the opposite side from the break. The x-rays are fine but the pain is intense.
