Is the word "banned" an abbreviation for the word "Banished"?

Kind of. You have to look at it from a different way. They technically mean the same thing. We can look and tender, and tend and they kind of mean the same thing. I don't think "Banned" would be the abbreviation. I think "Ban" would be.
