Who would win a MARATHON between a dog and a person?

Fastest person, but medium dog. My thoughts are that the dogs actually don't have endurance. Has anyone seen a dog run for a supper long time non-stop? No. They come back after fetching and are super tired. I think the person woul dhave more then enough time to catch up. Also, if there is a question of motivation, no problem to even the field there to. Just have a motorcycle with a steak attached to the back the whole time, and adjust the speed of the motorcycle to how fast the dog runs. If the dog paces it poorly too bad, thats part of the game. Or you could have a steak that travels at a set speed, just put it up high so the dog wouldnt actually get it, no wait, it'll probably tire itself out trying to jump at it, maybe put it under gl but the dog might just get bored.
