How might a psychoytic theorist interpret a childhood experience, such as the arrival of a new sibling?

The first thing that came to my mind was Freud and his theories regarding the Oedipal Complex. I could see how, if a sibling were to arrive during this time in a child's life it could create feelings of resentment in the older child. This resentment would come from the 1) the craving for bonding, closeness, and attention from the parent, and 2) the lack thereof or redirection of parental affection to the new arrival. Just a thought. Freud was one kookey guy! Check it out: a href="http://webspace.ship.edu/cgboer/freud.html" rel="nofollow"http://webspace.ship.edu/cgboer/freud.ht…/a
