HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! how do I ask him out??

Ok so his name is Robert and I don't know if he likes me. His friend Gloria asked him out for me but he did not give her an answer. He told Gloria that he would not tell her how he felt about me unless I told him how I truely feel about him and I do like him a lot but how do I tell him without makeing it sound corny?
