How to make a 12 gauge less powerful?

i had some extra $ so i decided to get my first shot gun im 14 and me and my dad shot a bunch of rifles and a 410 but my dad used to be a big gun enthusiast but that was a while ago anyway i wanted a 2o gauge but hes said we should get a 12 cuz ill grow in to it (i haven't had my growth spurt yet) so i said yes but im still nerves about the recoil so how can i make the recoil less like what specific kind of shell has the least recoil and by the way its a mav 88 security shotgun sorry the story was so long thx in advance
